Heritage External Restoration
We specialise in Heritage cleaning of monuments and listed buildings.
Our range of work comprises specialist removal of heritage paint coatings, the build up of atmospheric pollutants such as sulphur dioxide and organic growth, all of which can have devastating effects on heritage assets.
We work closely with architects and conservation officers to ensure the correct methods are used. We carry out test patches to determine the best course of action whereupon we produce technical reports, method statements and RAMS to aid the clients, conservation officer and architect. Our findings will identify which method we should use such as a low pressure steam removal with our specialist equipment or a wet abrasive for stubborn sulphur dioxide or lime coatings. Where more delicate and intricate detailing is needed, we can use poultices to clean stone work.
It is important that the cleaning of historical structures isn’t just for aesthetical purposes; it can also aid in the longevity of a structure.
